First and i think most important:
while sitting at a stop light it'll overheat but once i start going it'll immediately drop back down to normal temp. i've heard a few things it could be like headgasket, bad fan, clogged radiator, etc. i dont know where to begin on this fix. im not looking to dump alot of money in for repairs if it could be something really simple.

help please!
any leaks?

Proud Ford Ranger XLT Owner from Crescent City, NorCal.
Had it since '98, done a few mods, K&N Cold air induction, throttle body spacer, swaped out the 3.73 / open for a 4.10 / LS. Magna Flow w/2.5 pipe.

Would like to upgrade and swap out the 2.3L for a 2.3E Duratec, tear down and load it with Cosworth goodies, Tremec 6sp, the 7.5 for a more solid 8.0, 4.10 / PT. Thinking about a Garrett T 3/4 Turbo, 17-19 lbs fuel injectors.

Will download a pic once I get a chance, Late.............Lee

Hello, I am 63 years old, retired factory worker in Central Illinois. My hobbies are Genealogy, Motorcycle Riding. I love computers. This is my first Ford Ranger. I have had it about a week. I have a 2000 XLT 4 door Super Cab with 3.0 V6 engine, 142,000 miles, Automatic transmission with O/D. AC, PS, PB, PW, PL, AMFMCD, Security System. I have used this site for the door ajar issue. WD40 worked, the ding ding was driving my wife crazy. Your Ford Ranger Forum has quite a bit of useful information.

Since GM has broken the loyalty bond with me by forcing me into an early retirement, I feel no remorse in buying this Ranger and look forward to many more good miles down the road together. Looking through some of the threads, this looks to be a great and helpful forum. Thanks, Dan
First off, welcome Danny.....glad you found yourself a Ranger. The 4x4 will certainly help you thru this winter.

Secondly, a lot of new Rannger owners here. Please start your "OWN" thread and tell us more about yourself and your truck.

Thirdly, ELIN.....WTF.....too much information.

Hello. I'm canister. This is my 1st post. I have just had a 95 ranger given to me. It's too cold to check out. I don't know anything about it except I didn't see rust and it has auto xmission.I'm retired military and sort of disabled. I'll do my own work when I can. Right now my shade tree leaks and is snow covered.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, just signed up a few minutes ago! I have a '99 XLT 2wd. I've had my truck for 8 years now and I have no intentions of getting rid of it anytime soon. I'm looking for any information on the rear brakes. Currently I'm leaking brake fluid from the left rear. I purchased a rear brake extension, and I think the auto parts store gave me the wrong one. Does anyone have any links for a service manual in PDF format?

Thanks a bunch!
