Default many 99 ranger questions

where to start, i have had a 99 ranger for about 4 years now and have put about 130k miles on it which brings me to a total of 230k mi. it has a 3.0 V6 and a standard 5 speed. major repairs have been the clutch and all front end componets 2 years ago. i have a couple questions im hopeing someone can answer...

-Are there any common proplems i ahould be aware of?

-Is there a way to replace x-fer switch with a x-fer stick?

-how long did your 3.0 V6 last?

-are there any bucket seats that will bolt in?

again this is a 1999 ranger 4x4 5spd 3.0 V6

any help would be much appriciated

thanks, micky-

CAM SYNCRO!!! When it goes, it takes the entire engine with it.

Manual transfer case? Yup. Your in luck too...most of your era trans tailhousings have the threads already there for the shift linkage. Other than that, get a manual tcase from a 90-97 Ranger/Explorer, Interior floor plastic stuff and boots, the linkage w/ knob, and a 95-97 explorer front driveshaft and it's all a bolt-in deal. Can't forget cutting a hole into the floor.

I've seen reports of half a million miles. But I have no hands on experience.

Yes. As long as they are from the same cab config. Meaning x-cab seats and explorer seats will bolt into a xcab ranger. Explorer seats up to 01 and Sport and Sport Trac seats up to 05 bolt into X-cab rangers. Reg cab, fabrication would be needed.
