Wink Hails from NC

Well hello everybody I am on must Ranger forums now, The Maine reason I joined up is because my family loves Rangers my first truck was a 1978 F100 Ranger, Then I got a 68 f100 no Ranger That time but then I trade it for the 86 Ranger I got now Hopefully i found there problem out thourgh the other ranger forums here is the problem you tell me.

Well we were on the highway doing about 60 now nothing ever went wrong with the truck before untill this so we were driving then is fell like it was dropped in speed then the engine stared to shake real bad the the truck was going back and fourth repeatedly
then is smoked and died

Now it has been sitting since 2005 and only goes 20Mph we also put a new exhaust valve in one head I try looking up codes no go.some one told me it might be the fuel pressure regulator could this be it and guess what the dipstick smells like gas yes I am gaining in oil level and I just put some gas in it it has none since 2005

So dose this sound like a fuel pressure regulator

btw I am in to Rockabilly and the country life style

Welcome from another person from NC! Try to dump old gas first, refill and see what is going on. May be a cracked head or block?

Welcome to FRF.

No idea where to begin here. What do you mean by "no go" as far as checking the codes? It's not throwing any?
