First time, first post
Hellooo, I am in NJ, new to Ford Rangers, new to trucks. I learn to drive in automatic when I was 30 yrs old, I really liked this beautiful red pickup--picture will be posted soon. It belonged to my father in law and it was mine for a fair price, BUT it is a manual transmition...I have it for 3 weeks and today was the first day I did not stall going to first while driving to work, I was so happy! I still made stupid mistakes like not fully removing my foot from the gas when shifting up (big buck!). Tomorrow I will go to a nice wide uphill road to practice the going to first hopefully without wrecking the clutch. Wish me luck!

if you go practicing on a steep hill this early, wave buhbye to your clutch its obvious youre not ready it took me a while to get used to manual and I love every min. of it. I would get used to drving on flat surfaces without stalling before doing something out of your reach. if youre keen on tackling the hill anyways. price a clutch at your parts store and then price the labour to change one. it might change your mind
 . welcome to frf. and lets save the manuals

Thank you all for your words of welcome, Rango88 thks for the advice, I tend to be a little gun-ho on certain things, I think I will practice in flat for the next 2 hrs like you advice, money is a powerful motivator !
I can wait to take this baby to the hardware store, make it a great week!
