Default hello everyone

I just joined a few minutes ago, I am an avid quail hunter and gun nut, I am into farming, tractors Stihl chainsaws and woodworking. Mechanicing and fab work kinda just go along with the rest of my hobbies, which is what brought me here as I am tired of the plastic bumper on my 07 Ranger 4wd (plus I kinda destroyed it a few days ago).

Anyway on the Ford history, my dad has been in the car sales business since 1975, he went to work for the Ford dealer when I was 6 in 1986, so Ford trucks are what we had, drove and swore by. Anyway the history of my trucks is quite, well it will remind you of that family tree that doesn't branch:
#1 1983 F 250 4wd reg cab 300 I-6 4speed manual, truck was mean and tough as hell
#2 84' F150 4wd reg cab stepside 300 I-6 C6 auto. Dad and I fixed this one up and had it for 8 or 9 years. Painted it Ford blue and had an oak floor in the bed.
#3 92 F150 supercab 4wd 300-6 5 speed. This thing was a piece, should have been totaled twice before I bought it, it ran good, drove a bit crooked. I wasn't unhappy to see it go.
#4 95 Ranger reg cab 4wd 7' bed 4 cyl 5 speed. I got this one to drive 30 miles one way to college and back daily, it was low mileage, only 3 years old. Had alot of fun (legally and illegally) in that one. Did alot of work out of it too. If I wasn't driving this truck I was in the '84, dad and I kinda shared trucks between the 84 and the Ranger and when gas got expensive back then at like $1.70/gallon he drove the ranger as he had a 20 mile drive and I had a 3 mile drive to work. Anyway traded it for
#5 96 Ranger supercab 3.0 5 speed 2wd. This one was 5 years old with 28,000 miles. Driven by an old man 4 miles to work and back, nary a scratch on it. I still had my 84 F 150 so I figured for X amount a month and a good 3 or 4 years before it probably needs anything why not. It was a great truck and about 23-26 mpg with a nice smooth ride. Traded her off at 130,000 miles for my first NEW truck
#6 04 F150 reg cab 4wd stepside and black with a 4.6 auto. This truck looked like it was doing 90mph sitting still. I had graduated college a few months before purchase, had (still have) a nice job. Chromed it out. But I just had to have a supercab and the 5.4
#7 2006 F 150 supercab 4wd 5.4 auto. Now this thing I swear would pull the brick outhouse over. I liked this one but it was a lease, hated the lease, loved the truck. I got kinda tired of fidgeting into parking spaces, I was usually the only one in the truck, the back seat was just a junk catcher. With 5 months left on the lease Ford Credit offered an early out so......
#8 2007 Ranger reb cab 4wd 3.0 auto shortbed. I really wanted a 5 speed and a 7' bed, dad looked through dealer inventories everywhere and couldn't find it. So I got the one I have. I wanted back in a Ranger because I really liked the easy to park, nimble, take anywhere and just feel of the Ranger. With this I feel I am with the truck rather than in the truck. Anyway by far this is my favorite truck, I've had it a bit over 3 years now, rolled it once, took out a deer, brought home more game with this truck than any other two combined and I really like that I can reach in the bed to get something without using a ladder (and I'm 5'11"). Being most of my hunting is for quail it is a get in the truck, drive a bit, get out and hunt a little patch, get back in and do it over again, and again, and again. I love this truck. Of course a year after I got it my wife told me she was pregnant, it makes a great 2 seat family vehicle by the way!

Oh yeah, wife drives a 2005 Mazda MPV that we bought not long after we got married. I told her the Honda she had was not living in my driveway, PERIOD! It is a comfortable vehicle, we now have 2 kids so it is nice we have it and it was broke in before they get to trash it. Also it's paid off so we really like it!

So as you see I am a Ford guy

Descriptive only to let you all know I am not a fly by night Ford guy till the next fad comes through, I was raised, cut my teeth and bleed Ford Blue!

There was a roof over my head for 2/3 of my life because of Fords, my dad made a good living selling them!

And I like my Brittany's (bird dogs), lawncare and my flower gardens are my babies (I water at night before I go to bed, therapeutic).

To be more specific.
Rifle: 243 is my favorite of my collection (VV N 560 powder makes this thing BARK), 20 ga for quail and deer, Lightfield slugs, Sightron Optics, Grasshopper mowers

I kinda migrated here from Ford truck Enthusiasts, nothing against the site just to broad for me and not specific enough on the Ranger.
