Like a common occurrence in many forums, some people don't sign up until there is a need; that's me. I may even be in the wrong place, but that's what I'm here to find out. My wife's truck is a 1999 Mazda B4000 (engine, body, interior by Ford). We've experienced PCM failure (possible PATS) twice now and I'm here to start doing research and find out what the issue is. The truck is low mileage 127k and pretty nice overall. Its had (and continues to have) transmission problems; hard shifts, hanging in second and third.
Definitely don't take it as disappointment with the trucks (Ford or Mazda), I just need some research help so I can get it back on the road and forums are by far the way to go instead of dealers or mechanics shops. My company has a beater shop Ranger that keeps on going even running 50% or less on all cylinders. We will probably just drive it until failure and then drop in a rebuild.
So that's the deal. I haven't even started using the search function yet, but if you read the intros and have some links or insight, I'll take it.
