Default newby here

Hi my name is Sioux my husband owns a ford ranger 2005 model
we are not using it as much as we used to but i have noticed that when we do use it ,the oil light is taking between 8 - 10 seconds before going out
has anybody else ever had this before, is it the start of a problem d youm think
Its last oil change was approx 4000 miles ago or is it because its not being used so much latley about once a week if its lucky
It doesnt rattle or anything sarts well etc.
We are a bit concerned about the oil light taking its time going out

many thanks for any advice

Welcome!
If engine oil is correct level ,and
Is In normal condition,
It just might be as easy as re setting the
Oil sensor light by use of a scanner
As mentioned above by BigOleRanger
( most oil shops can do this )
