Default Cannot shift into 4wd
Just joined this forum. This is my first post. After not using my truck for several months while snow-birding, I used 4-hi to get off a grassy slope. Unfortunately, when I turned the switch back to 2wd, it stayed in 4. I made an appointment at a shop that I trust, and during the 15-mile drive to the shop, the 4wd light went off. Unfortunately, it was now in 2wd permanently. The shop said that it would be very expensive to fix it, and suggested living with a 2wd truck. I can probably survive that way, but if there is an inexpensive solution, I would certainly be interested. I have a 2001 XLT with the 4L.
