Smile New to the forums and owning a Ford Ranger
Hello all,

I just purchased a 2011 Ford Ranger about 5 months ago, and was looking for an internet community that have the same enthusiasm towards the truck as I do. I love my Ranger despite the criticism I have received due to its size, power, etc etc blah blah blah lol.

A bit more about myself, I'm 22 years old and I live in Europe. I am military overseas and have been here for almost 3 years. I will be returning to the states in about a year or so, and I'm pretty excited so I can customize my truck a bit more, seeing as it's a bit difficult overseas.

I'd like to throw a shout out to the creators of the forum, it's nice to be able to go to a group of people who have the same love and passion for the ranger.

Welcome, and as if this forum didn't have enough acronyms already, I'd like to add another -- FWOPS. **** What Other People Say.

Ford Ranger's get the job done. It may not be the prettiest and have the most advanced engine, etc., but it is a truck built to last. I just turned 49,400 miles on my 08', and I travel mostly highway. So, I anticipate getting 200,000 miles out of my vehicle.

BTW, my screenname fifthranger is in response to me driving my 5th Ranger. My 1st vehicle was a 97' single cab, 4 cylinder, auto. I have since driven an 02' ext. cab, 6 cylinder, auto., an 04' ext. cab, 6 cylinder 4*4, auto., an 06' ext. cab, 6 cylinder, 4 door, auto., and now an 08' ext. cab, 6 cylinder, 4 door, auto. So, I have a lot of respect in these trucks.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.

As for my specs:

2011 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD Super cab
5 speed manual transmission (after learning how to drive manual from my time here in Europe, I just can't go back to driving an automatic lol)
2.3 liter I-4 engine


unfortunately my truck's the basic of the basics...I can't wait to scour these forums in search of how to make my truck better than it is now...although I think modding while the warranty is still up is kinda iffy, am I right? lol

Well I wouldn't try to reprogram the trucks computer but there are lots of mods you can do. Welcome to frf. By the way nice truck its like my trucks little sister,
