I'm prior military stationed at Ft Campbell, KY (Clarksville, TN). This area was so nice, I decided to stay once I got out of the ARMY. I started my own business. Tub, Tile and Countertop refinishing (www.hometechrefinishing.com
I do a lot of driving for my business and I was driving a F150 that was killing me on gas. I found my 2000 Ranger 3.0L flex SuperCab and I'm enjoying the money I've saved on fuel.
I drove 9 hours to get her, $2400 with 194K miles. Fair deal, it has a locking bed cover and is all black. I really like the truck, it fits all my equipment and is fairly roomy for a 6'-2" 190lbs guy.
When I bought it, the passenger power lock didn't work. The Blower motor only worked on high, the shocks were shot and the front sway bar connectors were broken. I've been working on repairing her for the last few weeks and it's all paying off.
So Far, I've replaced the shocks and blower motor resistor, installed new shocks, changed the oil, flushed the radiator and changed the plugs and wires.
When changing the plugs and wires, I noticed #4 and #5 plugs had a gap of 0.98. I don't know how it made the 9 hour drive back home, but it did. Unfortunately, #6 plug broke off at the hex of the plug. I had to remove the head to extract it and ensure no metal savings fell into the cylinder.
It will still need new tires and could use dual exhaust, but I think I'm going to just run her and enjoy for a while, then I'll start sticking more money into it.
