Default Howdy from Quebec, Canada!

Hey there folks,

Hello from Quebec! I've just recently pulled the trigger on a 2009 FX4 and am glad to be joining the team. I've been itching to get a pickup for the last 10 years or so and I'm happy to have finally been able to pull it off. I picked it up yesterday and have been cruising around non-stop since.

I've already made a list of modifications I'd like to make, most of which I hope to have done during the summer, but sourcing some of the parts in Canada can get tricky. Anyhow, here's a list for you. Insight would be great as many of them are new concepts to me.

Install a car PC
I've ordered a 7" Lilliput touchscreen monitor and a dual-DIN kit for it from the US. Expect delivery in three weeks or so. I'll be using an EEEPC 901. I'm still assembling the various components it needs in order to be a media player, GPS, bluetooth receiver, etc etc. Until then, I'll be installing a KW-AVX810 unit. Hopefully I'll get to do that this weekend.

Paint the center console
While I have everything disassembled to install the DVD player, I'll be using dye paint to paint my center console black rather than the stock light gray. I feel it'd clash less with the black buttons and trims. Weather permitting, of course.

Billet grill
I'm still trying to source a decently priced one, but I want to replace the factory grill with a horizontal stripe billet grill. Smooooth.

Magnaflow exhaust
The stock muffler doesn't really show off the 4.0L engine's guts as much as I'd like it to, so I'll eventually be picking up a Magnaflow muffler and swapping that in. I've never done a muffler installation before so I'm still trying to look up how to do it. I don't have easy access to a welder, so I may use brackets if they're acceptable. Insight would be great.

Head unit
When time allows, I'll scavenge the scrap yards around here for a decent-looking, matching head unit.

Fix the previous owner's mistake
The previous owner had some good and bad. He only put 8k KM on the truck, but also left a really, really nasty, deep scratch on the hood. I think he was using some kind of rack which dug into the metal. I'll have to find color matching paint and fix his mistake soon.

Wet sand
Just because I like my paint free of orange peel.

That's all for now. Later!
