Default New to Ford Ranger Forum
Hi, im new to this club and just purchased a 2007 Ranger STX with 28,000 miles on it. It's got the 3.0 engine in it and bought it to save on fuel costs over the 4.0. I really like this truck and will be posting alot in the future.

Looking forward to discussing topics on this truck. This is my first P/U truck and have a few questions on aftermarket items.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the 3.0 and 4.0 get about the same mpg.

Welcome to FRF

As stated above 3.0 and 4.0 get same MPG, and the 4.0 has more power while getting same MPG.

My 4.0 can get 22-23mpg on the highway and 18-19 in the city.

Thanks for the warm welcome, well lets put it this way, I wanted a Ranger and the one that I bought has a 3.0, wanted a 4.0 but this was the cleanest truck that CarMax had in Florida. Was looking at a Sport, 2010 left over from a local Ford dealer, but could not qualify for the loan, yea my credit sucks! I just think I was lucky to get what I got. I dont care just happy that I got my truck! Here are a few pictures.
