Default New Ranger Man, RPM?'s

Hello everyone,
My name is Dan, and I just got a 2000 Supercab (2 Door) 3.0 manual, 2wd 3.73 4 weeks ago as my first truck.

I am 27, a teacher in Charleston SC, and love to play rugby, whitewater kayak, and travel. My former car (still have for a little) is a 95 Saturn SL2 with 230,000 miles, it's bombproof. My wife has a 2001 Solara that caused me to start working on cars a tiny bit.

So far with my truck I have put on side mirrors from a B-series, done the throttle cable mod (tons of slack in it), modified the air box to remove silencer and snorkel but keep velocity stack, and put on a bumper ball to tow a grill. Where the heck can i attach the chains? Should I just weld on some hooks or am i missing a hard point?

My latest adventure was doing a gauge swap with a 99 expo so i would have a tach. Thanks to this site it went great! Now when the sun shines right it looks like i have 4 wheel drive, cruise, and an air suspension. The engine was gone from the Explorer i stripped, so i want to be sure my RPMs match up. cruising in 5th gear at 2500 I'm going 65 mph. Does this sound right to fellow vulcans?

Thanks, and looking forward to meeting people!

welcome to FRF, Dan!
first off, throw that ball hitch away. it's useless.
for proper towing install a class III receiver hitch. I know your just towing a grill, but the receiver will allow you to tow more if needed and comes with places to attach the safety chains.

Welcome to FRF, and yeah 2500 at 65mph sounds about right with 3.73's.
