Hello Ya'll...Soon to be a Ranger owner
My name is Gary and I live in Portland OR...I want a Ranger but need some advice as to what to avoid... I want economy in a 4x4. Is that even possible? I have around 10K to spend... What should I do? Any advice is appreciated...

Welcome from Seattle... If you want the 4.0L you're looking at approx. 17-20 mpg city from my experience. I don't remember what I got in my 3.0L but someone else might be able to chime in. I'd say you could pick up a decent '06ish for that amount, or go older and look for low miles and save some money for the inevitable mods. Not 100% though.

You can't get more economical than a 4x4 ranger! As long as you don't start it.

def go for the 4.0 SOHC (2001+) Ranger Supercab 4-door. 10k is a good price range, sure we can find something.
