soon to be ranger owner...i hope
hey whats up! im Ren and i currently drive a 1992 BMW 525i and its a cool car and all but in order to get it running real good its gonna cost a whole lotta money and i figured instead of ending up in a cycle of running up my credit card and replacing stuff i should just get a new car.
ive been looking around and one of the vehicles that appealed to me was the 4.0 ranger.the truck is a reasonable price to the point where i can get one with no miles on the clock and the parts seem cheap and theres plenty aftermarket out there.
im still looking around but the rangers kinda stuck in my head.
i was just wondering what expenses you guys have when i comes to gas, maintenance and if theres stuff that i should just know when im picking one out.
oh and i do have two questions:
1. 0-60 for the 4.0sohc with the manual.
2. when they tell you $22kish what do they really mean? how low do you think i can work them?
thanks in advance and i hope you dont think imma troll or nothing because out of all the ranger forums that showed up on google i like this one the best lol

Of course price depends on options. My dealer down the street has a 2wd 4.0 XLT stickered at about 19k.
0 to 60 time? Who cares? It's a truck.

Re: soon to be ranger owner...i hope
hey bud, I just got my 2011 Ford ranger, 2wd, 4L, power everything, cruise, tilt and Ac for $18,845 everything included so i think you could probably work down the price depending on what options youre looking at. The 4L 2wd with 5 spd is rated 8 secs flat for 0-60 time. heres the link: http://www.autos.com/autos/trucks/co...s/acceleration
The guys here pretty much average 18 MPG City/Highway. The only problems I have seen is with the 4x4 system, since its an electric shift on the fly the system can malfunction requiring you to change the knob. I just bypassed that and got the 2wd and I am super happy with it. Hope this helps.

I get 18mpg 14 in the winter when I use the 4 wheel drive.0-60 not sure but its enough to kick those little rice burners with the coffee can mufflers pisses them off when a 4X4 leaves them in the dust, after I back down to 60 I see them with their rubber bands wound tight coming around me like they accomplished something. :^)
