Thumbs down Newbie has dumb question
Hi, I just joined the forum. I had a 1996 Ford Ranger XL for 10 years and I just traded it in for a 2004 Ranger in mint condition. My question is how can I tell what model it is? It just says Ranger on the side (no XL or XLT). Is their just a plain Ranger basic version?

Welcome. Any Ford dealer will be able to tell you exactly what it is according to your VIN.

Welcome to FRF

It could be a xl or a edge. Does it have painted front and rear bumpers along with fender flares?

The xl and edge come with just the emblem on the fenders that say ranger.

The front and back Fenders are Black and the fenders are slightly flared. I put a few pictures up of it so you could see.

It is a regular cab with the 3.0 6 cyl engine.

Mods: New engine and trans. Cluster swap with tach. New headunit and speakers all around. 4x4 front valance. Led turn indicator mirrors. Crystal clear head lamps. Clear corners. 5" driving lights in Valance.
Mods to come: 'stang seats, explorer console, window tint, flowmaster cat back, some mild port work.

Another way to tell is if it's a 4 cylinder, it's an XL, ALL EDGE's came with either the 3.0 V6 or the 4.0 V6.
