Default Greetings from the Canadian North!

Hey everybody, how's it going? My name is Dave, and I just joined Ford Ranger Forum because, well, my dad just bought me a 2007 Ford Ranger Sport, and I'm loving everything about it! And what better way to learn more about my truck than to come to a place where everyone is talking about their Ford Rangers! As you could probably see, I'm a new driver, which, in BC, means that I can't even drive alone without a supervisor yet, but my dad got me this truck for a grad present for when I go to college, (which by then I WILL be able to drive alone!). My Ranger is a standard, so it was a bit of a challenge to learn to drive it, but I'm getting the hang of it. All I need to do now I'm told is to get a good feel of the gears, know confidently where each gear is without taking my eyes off the road, and wrecking my shiny new truck... So yeah, I live in the Northern part of BC, where the winters reach a balmy -45'C, which makes the road quite slippery. And seeing as though this is a LIGHT pickup, it will be interesting to see how it handles on the snow and ice, but I've been told that I just need to throw some weight in the back, and it will handle fine, but I'll see for myself in a month or so I guess... But that's pretty much all about me and my truck, so whoever bothered to try and read this will be happy to see that I'm finished, the people that got this far anyways! Hope everyone is enjoying their Rangers as much as I am!!! Cheers!

Welcome to FRF, Dave!

Having some weight in the back of a 2wd Ranger will definitely help a lot. Even in my 4x4 the ass end tries to break loose sometimes.

Default Welcome

Welcome to the forum, I am new to this forum also, I have a 2000 Ranger 4x4 with a Predator snow plow and love it!
As far as traction goes I am on my third set of tires and this set is great! It was like night and day I couldn't believe it, they are Cooper Discoverer M/S.

Good luck, JB
