Default Hello all

Hi guys new to the forum and Ranger community. I just bought a well used 1998 B4000 and need some technical help/advice. Not overly familiar with the Ranger/B series trucks per-say but know my way around Fords and modular V8s.

My baby is a 2003 Mercury Marauder that puts down 305hp and 317ft-lbs of torque to the wheels. Mods include Kooks header, full custom exhaust, built 4R70W transmission with all the internal goodies, 3500 rpm stall TC, 4" aluminum driveshaft, 4.10 gears, Cold air kit, a tune by Ramsey's Performance here in Tampa, and a bunch of suspension goodies.

Will be adding a polished upper intake in the next couple weeks and getting it retuned. I am also currently building a custom Procharger setup for the Merc but don't expect it to be complete until the end of 2011.

I bought the B4000 to retire the Merc from daily driver status but blew the head gasket on my way home so now I have 2 project vehicles. Came here for looking your expertise and to meet some other car/truck people.

Hi Phil! Welcome. These guys are full of knowledge, and there are plenty of "How - To's" to look up too.
Post some pics when you have time....

I'll post some pics tonight of the Merc but won't be able to get any of the B4000 until this weekend. Getting home well after dark puts a cramp on my photo taking.

Finding the "How To's" are dangerous for me to look at. I can't leave anything alone or stock and am getting all kinds of ideas of stuff to do.

I'm looking through the How To's info and found a Cobra brake conversion thread. Of course at that exact moment my wife looks over my shoulder and see's what I'm reading. Her first comment was "This isn't supposed to be a second project vehicle yet here you are looking at modifications to the brakes. Whats next your going to want to put a Marauder motor in it?"

I of course respond with, "Well they did it on Trucks recently and I could always swap it out when I buy a Cobra motor for the Merc."

She just walked away shaking her head.....

I can't seem find my Marauder pics on the computer. I got a few of the engine bay but haven't been able to find any body shots. I know I have them just not sure where.

Here is a link to some of the engine bay: http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u...ck%20Together/

Another to a video of my last dyno session:
