New to me 94 Ranger
Hello
Just bought it Saturday. Red 1994 Ford Ranger 2 door XLT 2.3L I-4 5-speed with about 110K. Had to stop and buy tires. Going back tomorrow to get front shocks put in, the passenger side is busted. One of the passenger rear leaf springs had a piece broken off (of the 5? per side) about 15 inches long. The seller had it wedged in there, I took it out in case it ever fell out and took out a tire. I replaced the blower motor resistor as the fan was only working on high.
The good news is it was 7 degrees out Saturday when I test drove it and it fired right up and drove fine (except for the obvious loud clunking of a broken shock). On the highway it did 65 with my foot on the matt. Top speed in the I-4? If so it is no biggie. Felt like the top of each gear was hard to push through with the gas. Again, no big deal I will tune it up.
Looking forward to the site and getting help as well as contributing. I've been a member on LS1Tech.com for over 10 years, familiar with forums. I also drive a 1981 diesel rabbit that gets 52mpg highway and 40 city. However, I did mention it was 7 degrees out Saturday. Well, the rabbit laughed at me when I tried to start it so I went and bought the truck today for a vehicle to tow jetskis in the summer and an extra winter beater.
So, am I going to love the Ranger? I used to own a 93 Ranger 4.0 V6 in 1993, this feels much different.
Anything to watch out for?
