No, its the constant velocity piece. Its a rubber piece with three bolts that connect it to the transmission as well as the driveshaft. Specs are a '88 ext cab 2.9 5spd.

Hmm. None of mine ever had that. Maybe it's something to do with the extended cabs only. Interesting..

I've never seen ANY constant velocity piece on a rear driveshaft in 89. Same goes for the front driveshaft.

If you're concerned about a cracked head then look under the oil cap. If there's snot there, then you have a problem.

Why are you concerned about the radiator? What's happening with it?

It was low when we bought the truck. I tried to drain it and the radiator drain tube was clogged with bits of rust and scale. Filled it with mix and it's staying up but need to take it apart and get it properly cleaned or replaced. My son wants to put another 100 thou on the truck. Need to fix a few items first.

It should be very capable of another 100k, my dad is pushing 300k on stock motor and tranny and I wouldn't be scared to go anywhere in it.

^^That's the BULLSNAKE man you can't hate on that!!!

If it's not leaking then I'd save my money. I always opened the petc*ck and put the garden hose inside the top and let it run for say 30 minutes. It helps to work the pet**** back and forth while the water is running. Always worked for me on my vehicles, as far as flushing the radiator only.
