Hi all. Just bought this '00 Ranger XLT 4x4. I really like it and feel I got a good price on it as well.
No rust, does not appear to have been wrecked, very clean overall and drives fine. 94k miles
Only issues I spotted are:
It sounds like a bad CV joint in one of the front wheels. Around 30-40 mph, you can hear a womp-womp sound. I don't think it's a bad tire, as I can't hear it with my head out the window. I am mechanically adept, so how hard is it to change out CV joints in a Ranger?
Second, I notice a lot of Fords including this one, have noisy PS pumps. The car steer fine, but it's got that trademark whine. Is that an indicator of anything or is that normal.
Looking forward to learning and contributing on here -
Mark
