Default FNG from Tennessee

New guy to the forums here stopping in to say hi. Not completely new to the ranger I used to have a 4.0 5spd 94 stepside. Current ride isnt exactly a ranger lol but its close enough. I just picked up a black and tan 96 ext cab 5spd B-2300. Has over a 1/4million miles on it, but is still kicking and it will haul around the bike so im happy lol. One thing I have noticed is that I believe its had a rear end and or brake swap done on it. It has rear disk brakes, and the axle is above the leafs but there is no flip kit installed. from what I remember of my old one they all needed flip kits in the rear for lowering so thats my first mission. To figure out what rear end I have in the truck. Want to look into possibly swapping to a ranger front of this gen or if possible even a later gen. the Mazda front just doesnt do much for me. Ill toss up a few pics I took of her on christmas for you guys, cause if your anything like the peeps on my other forums you will be asking for them.

Thumbs up Re: FNG from Tennessee

Welcome neighbor............I'm just a lil' farther south in Athens.

NICE lookin B series!

Sounds like a previous owner did an Explorer axle swap, which is a good thing as it's an 8.8.

PM me for contact info if ya'd like to get together to shoot the breeze or talk bout our TOYS!

im actually in athens quite a bit my buddy works at elite car audio and window tint down there, so I hang out down there when I get the chance. As far as the axle goes, that does make a little sense. wasnt thinking explorer. I know someone mentioned older toyota rear ends as well. Is there an easy way to figure out if it is the eploder rear end? Maybe diff cover bolt number or patttern?

===============================
BOMK Toyota doesn't have an 8.8, best I can do is this pic of mine in my green 94:

See if there's a tag on one of the differential cover bolts, it will tell what it is.

PM'd ya contact info...............
