New Ranger Owner!
Sorry for the huge story!
Hey guys! My name is Sean and I turn 16 in about half an hour. I had my 16th Birthday Party yesterday on Saturday the 29th. Many of us now the economy is not doing very well right now and I see it effect my family pretty well. My step-dad owns a very well known automotive shop in our town, Mr. Z's Muffler. It has been open since 1970 and is very well respected in our community and Northern Nevada as the best exhaust shop around. Although, with the economy, shops like his are not doing so well, but still hanging in there. Ever since I was a kid I loved cars and trucks, I guess you can say it was that natural attraction that most guys have to things that go off-road and get dirty. Well for my birthday I received a new pair of hunting boots about a week ago, which were very expensive. I was STOKED and thought my birthday was great. Then, my "Small" BBQ we had yesterday to celebrate my birthday turned into something I could have never imagined. I was very excited to see a few wrapped boxes on the table (Presents) and felt really lucky to have parents who try so hard for me to make sure I had a few presents to open at my party, even while times are rough. Well, long story short, I recently got my hunters safety license, and ended up opening up a BRAND NEW Remington 12-Guage for bird hunting this season, and then after that I opened up a brand new Ruger .22 for rabbit and small game hunting. At this point, I was COMPLETEEEELY stoked that I had got so much for my birthday, and was sure I had the best birthday ever. Then, can you guess what was in the small little box in the center of the table? The keys to this!!!!
Sooo stoked!!!
THANK YOU!
And my step-dad was nice enough that he even took it to his shop and put on for me 3" Magnaflow catback exhaust! Sounds soo good!! The thing is practically new, it is a 1997 Ranger 4.0 (Obviously haha) with 50,804 miles. It was an old mans truck who barely ever drove it, and when he did, you guessed it, drove it like an old man. It is in PERFECT condition and I am sooooo happy its mine. So now its my turn to step up with my step-dad and the big dogs and start modding my truck!! It will take time, and I will go slow at first. I want to enjoy this thing Its the 2WD version with the Prerunner suspension style in the front. Me sees a 26" Travel Prerunner kit somewhere in its long future... haha!
-Sean.

Welcome to FRF, and Happy belated Birthday. I got my 2002 Ranger for my Birthday as well, 5 years ago. I recalled you mentioning Northern Nevada, and as well recall the license plate stating Reno, Nevada. Currently located in San Antonio, Texas, I wanted to mention that I use to live there, yet its been several years since I last visited Nevada alone. From the small town of "Fallon." Let me know if that name rings a bell.
