Default New guy in Oh, truck wont start..

Hello everyone, i own a 1997 Ranger 2.3 2wd, with 63000 origanal miles. I just picked it up about 4 months ago and love to drive it. Though i live in the snow belt 2wds are pretty hard to drive but she does a lot better than i thought Anyways today their was a problem. I started it up and she started fine, but i noticed a somewhat higher idle than normal. i didnt think anything of it other than it being 20 degrees outside. while i was brushing off the foot of snow on it from the storm we have been having for the last 12 hours, she calmed back down to a normal idle. I got in it after brushing it off, about 5 minutes, went to put her in 2nd, its an auto, and it just died. Tried to start it back up and it cranks but never fires. Problems i have with the truck before this is 1st gear wore out so i have to start out it 2nd now. This happened because my radiator broke 2 months ago and mixed tranny fluid with coolent and vise versa. I have not replaced the tranny yet, as work is relativly hard to find.. i flushed the system and did install a new radiator though. I have also had a fuse blow out on me, that i belive was the fuel pump fuse. dont know for sure, i was in a hurry that day and just replaced it right away without looking to see what it was. 20 amp though i beleive. any info or thoughts, anything at all will be considered without hesitation so feel free to leave some thought. As of now north/eastern ohio contiues to dump feet of snow on us, so without a garage im not planning on trying to wrench on her this evening or anything lol. thanks again

sorry about the post in wrong section, i will be sure to post in right section the next time round. I start the truck in park yes, it fired up again today, i did the same thing allowing it to warm up for 5 min. But i noticed the coolent temp is not reading a warm up. and my check ngine light is on. so im assuming that a coolent temo sensor would need replacing then, i will replace thursday on payday and reply then thank you.

Finnally now have time to handle this today, though i am having a problem finding the darned thing. I have the Haynes manual for it, and it says that it resides on the drivers, rear side of the block. Just underneath the cylinder head. I must be blind as a bat, cause man o man i just dont see it. Im wondering if anyone knows an easier way to see it, or has an illustration available for sighting purposes. Thank you much.
