Rpms
Ok so I have been driving a ranger for about 3 years now and love it. The only thing I wish was diffrent is how many problems they have...lol. Anyways
The problem at hand now is that my rpms are staying up when I take my foot off the gas. It like when I go to slow down and push the clutch petal the engine wants to keep going. Eventually it slows down.
So the question is what do I do to fix it.
At first I thought it was the idle so I tweaked it a few times no change
Then I went to the penatration oil on the throttle no change.
So then one day I was driving and I realized there was a lot of movement in the petal its self so I go to see what's the problem is.
I touched the petal and the entire petal and bracket(were the tap weld had broken) came down. It was mind blowing. So I got some self tappers and got it back up and thought that might fix the problemn But it didn't.
so I still don't know what's wrong with it, so what should I do next?

Well I drive a 97, 4 cylinder, 2.3 liter. Its a standard. Uhm I really haven't done any modifications on it. My truck is a my way to school. So I try to keep it running good. I recently replaced the entire engine in it because the water pump went out and therefore cause the egine to over heat and it cracked the head and melted the pistions. Other than that its all pretty basic.
