Hey, my name is Peter. Im 20 years old, and just bought my first pickup truck. 2005 ranger edge - automatic v6 3.0l.
I owned a 1993 grand marquis ls that I had done custom mods just with me and my friend. We installed fog lights, cold air intake using spectres air filters (ended up using PVC piping for the MAF sensor - I was cheap and had no idea there were premade adapters lol - which made everyone lol), a velocity scoop with the intake (was later doing some body mods to make a big scoop in place of the grill using fiberglass). Also chopped off the mufflers and put on 6in glasspacks (dual exhaust, and about 3ft shorter than stock) - the car was hella loud and was running close to 240hp. Was going to buy a turbo fan and a performance chip for it to get at least 330+ hp. Ended up crashing into a guardrail on the highway at 70mph when my tires locked up because ABS failed (I was trying to slow down from traffic ahead, possibly an accident ahead, and ended up causing one myself). Luckily me and my passengers survived.
Then bought me my truck
So of course im looking to mod the hell out of the truck, but not looking to spend too much (e.g. buy a big turbo or supercharger, at least, not yet). Found this forum looking for reasons why my truck kept stalling when I put in a spectre cold air intake again, still dont know why because I had the MAF sensor on, but who knows. I did the air intake box mod that was stickied, and it sounds great (tested it at 1am in my town, I could definitly tell a sound difference).
Ill be looking to put on some glasspacks and buy a performance chip, and some type of turbo fan mod or something. Im sure ill figure it out.
But might as well say hi as I now own this ranger, and this forum is specifically for rangers, so ill be around ^^ (pictures and specs on my truck coming soon).
