Default 99 ranger needs plenty of work and good advice

i have a 99 ranger xlt. i was so excited when i bought the truck. then my truck started all sorts of strange behavior. after some study online i came to understand that its likely to be the head gasket. so i started the time consuming process of labling and taking out all sorts of stuff (which through the process i learned a lot, not to mention i learned that there is a LOT to learn), and a bit of foul language. But it also woke up in me the desire to work on my own truck, and i get some satisfaction out of it. so i decided to sign up, and ask for help from other (hopefully more knowledgable) people that also like to work on their rangers. i am getting ready to remove the fan clutch to access the bolts that hold the alt, compressor, and powersteering to the heads. i have a coupla bolts that sheered off where the headers meet the heads. any advice?

took the fan clutch off today. started to attempt the head gasket bolts, but after shearing a bolt in the drivers side manifold the other day i was scared to try it further. i was honestly pulling as hard as i could leverage with the wrench i have. sprayed 'em down with liquid wrench and called it a day.

My advise is - Buy a gallon can of Never-Seez.
Whenever you take something apart, give the bolts a good coating.
Reassemble and give exterior a good coating.
I've had my Ranger for 8 years. Bought when New.
I painted the Never-Seez on the brake and fuel lines, and they still look brand new.
It does not wash off.
I also coated any nuts & bolts I may remove in the future.
Hope this helps.
