Hello Everyone, I have a 2001 3.0L, extended cab, 4 door with 59,000 miles on it. Found this forum and thought I would browse around and see if I can figure out how to replace my water pump. Looking forward to interacting with everyone.

Disconnect neg. battery cable

Drain cooling system

Remove cooling fan and shroud

Remove drive belt and the pulley at the end of the water pump shaft (Left Handed Thread)

Loosen clamps and detach the hoses from the water pump
if they are stuck use adjustable pliers and grab at the end and twist to break seal

If u need to remove alt. and its mount bracket from the water pump. Without removing the ac lines remove the air compressor mounting bracket with the compressor and power steering pump still attached. Set to the side without disconnecting lines

Remove bolts and detach the water pump from engine
There are different bolts so make sure u know where each one goes.

Clean bolt holes of any sealant

Compare the new water pump with the old to verify u have the right one. Been there done that so make sure

Remove all gasket from the engine surface so it is nice and clean

Apply a thin coat of RTV to the gasket surface on the water pump then lay the water pump gasket on the pump and insert 2 bolts to hold gasket in place also apply a thin amount of RTV to the other side of gasket before installing

Install new pump and insert bolts tighten finger tight

tighten the bolts evenly in a cris cross pattern

torque Water pump bolts 84 inch pounds
