Well I guess we will start out with a name. I'm Andrew, 17, live in Massachusetts. I have a 1997 Ford Ranger. It's a 2.3L, 4 cylinder. 2x4 single cab, step side bed. 4 speed with OD. A little over 119K. I found this site kind of by accident. As we all know Ford is Ford and they have some problems but today my Check engine light came on. So I hooked it up to the OBD II mod. at work and it gave me PO171. MAF sensor. Googled It. Came here.
So I guess I will start about my truck. I got it Aug. 23rd of this year and so far it has done.... okay.... I went to get it inspected, both the lower ball joints were shot, so the guy replaced them. (glad I bought it from a shop) Two weeks later It blew out the front passenger side suspension shackle. So I replaced Both on the passenger side. A week later the starter died. Glad it's a standard. So It would not pass emissions. NEW EXHAUST
(mostly) New headers and from the Cat. back to come out the side. So a week ago The metal T that holds the coolant thermostat rusted a whole in the bottom of it and it. That part has been discontinued... like really? I made one out of cast iron. works great. Two days ago it was raining and my truck slid taking a corner from a set of lights.... tapped the curb and blew out the Driver side rear suspension shackle. So Yesterday I replaced the drivers side front and back. Alright so the whole reason I'm here. MAF sensor. Everything on here is great. detailed with pictures and what not. I hope I can add to this and have a good time. I will put up more pictures of my truck.
