As far as rust goes..here in Southern Ontario vehicles slowly die from it. Road salting playing a big part I think. We can`t use studded tires neither. Out West..no salt and studded tires allowed in most provinces. So in Saskatchewan a vehicle does not die from rust in about 10 years, despite lots of snow and rain? I wouldn't know since I've always lived here.

Welcome from BC, nice truck!
Tons of salt on the roads here when the snow starts, after about 10 years every vehicle has rust of some sort. I try to take my truck through the car wash at least once a week in the winter if only for a rinse. And we use studded tires, but they're only legal during certain months. Haven't needed them for the truck, so far its been a tank in the snow and have yet to get stuck!

Thanks Canadiangurl...I didn't think they used salt there at all. And studded tires only legal for a short time. Your Ranger is 4WD I think?..so all you need are good tires. My Ranger is 2WD but I have Cooper WeatherMasters for the winter..they are not expensive and work great.

Ya, a ton of sand and salt get dumped on the roads in the winters in sask, so spraying it off ever week or so is a good idea unless you don't mind a bit of rust with your paint.
