Default Hey from Florida

Just purchased a 97 Ranger XLT 4 cyl 5 speed, and I absolutely love it.
I've had 3 cars in my life and this is the first truck and Im having a blast.

Im actually a bit surprised at the acceleration of the truck seeing how shes only a 4cyl (and Ive been in little toy box go kart cars my whole life). But I know rangers are small trucks compared to others....but coming from sitting 6 inches off the ground in little cars I feel as though Im in a monster truck lol

I guess being bone stock gives me a nice clean slate to work with. Been browsing around and this seems like a great forum with great people, Im sure Ill be here often.

Well I wanna add a bit more hp to the truck. I will probably drop in a CAI and an exhaust for now. I know they wont add a tremendous amount of power to it but for my current budget I believe they will due.

Im just happy to have a truck, Ive come off of 3 little Nissan tuner cars so for me even this "little" 2wd truck is a big vehicle for what Im used to lol. I don't think I need 4x4 anyway I wont be doin any extreme offroading or anything so the little 4cyl 2wd suits me fine. Plus I wont be towing anything either.

Although I did go off road a bit yesterday just because I well....could

I actually did catch the offroad bug a bit lol. I need to remember that although I have a "truck" its still a relatively small truck without 4x4 and when I decided to drive through this mud puddle the other night after I rainstorm I ran into some complications....
Needless to say.....I got stuck lol

Oh well, just threw 3 of my buddies in the back to give it some weight and managed to wiggle my way out.
Fun times, never thought I'd have more fun with a truck than with my little cars

Ill be fine im sure, just have to keep that inner teenager inside of me at bay I originally bought this little truck to haul parts to fix my Nissan SER.

On the way to the junkyard to pick up a new radiator I mistakenly drove by a muffler shop and used the money to have a magnaflow fabbed on the truck instead lol.

As we speak I have some old piping laying in my living room Im using to make a CAI for my truck. I keep telling myself "this" will be the last thing I do before fixing my car but it never works that way lol.

Im sure ill fix my little car one of these days....all it needs is a new front end, its just that everytime I go outside to start tearing the wrecked front off my car I open the hood of my truck and go..hmmmm lol
