Stock 08 Ranger Sport 2WD V6 Torsion Bars
Hi,
you can call me J-P, im new to this, always been a racing fan of hot rods, got hitched so i had to leave the scene, now im doing trucks! lol So anyways my shocks are done and my tires are chewed up from my crazy driving offroading in the city, the dealer said my tires had mountain bumps, and i need new ones figured it was time to start my first project with my stock truck. Im going to get 30's M/T, and i would like a 3' lift to avoid scrapping on turns since im a heavy footer on the pedal..... I thought of getting the FABTECH 3inch spindle kit to work as a swap from my factory suspension, but it requires me to get rid of my OEM sport rims, i already invested in painting them black, dont want to buy new ones
ANy advice or recommendations? I figured new shocks will do with the 30's but im worried about the clearance with the wheel well
hope to make friends in this site, and thanks for the help

I guess I'll be the one that takes a stab at this....
Well...we don't know what you have. But by you mentioning spindles, torsion bars, and sport, I'm gonna assume '06+ 2wd Sport. If that's the case, dude...you've got 30's STOCK. You can fit a max of 32x11.50 or 33x10.50 stock and/or with a slight torsion bar twist. 31's is a very popular choice for stock trucks on their second set of tires. Typically, the 3"(or is it 3.5"?) spindle lift guys run with 33x12.50's on aftermarket 15x8's. And before you ask, yes, 15" wheels will fit over your front brakes. So 30's on a spindle lifted t-bar truck will basically look dorky and absolutely rediculous. lol.
Wheels and spindles...I honestly haven't a clue but I've heard stock 16's fit, stock 15's don't. But don't quote me on that. The combination of stock sucked in wheels and the fact the brake spindle is moved downward, puts the top inside of the wheel and the meat of the steering knuckle below the upper balljoint fighting for space.

Re: Stock 08 Ranger Sport 2WD V6 Torsion Bars
Thanks everyone for the welcome....
Fx4wannabe01 thanks for the input, but i've spoken with Fabtech and they said that if i get the spindle lift kit i have to replace my rims cuz the backspacing required is 3.5 and my stocks are 4-5inchs. I found the remedy, getting longer control arms would be the way to go if i choose to lift it. I dont have 30's stock, my tires are 235/75/r15, but if i do get the 30's m/t, and the lift kit, it would look "dorky and absolutely rediculous"? Why? will there be a big gap between the tire and the top part of the wheel well? I have a feeling it will cuz with the stocks i have plenty of room and space, i guess i'll go with the 31's, thanks for the input!

the tires would look really tiny. you you lift it at least go with 32's. you can still get away with 31's but i wouldn't.
