Default Hello from San Diego

Hello from La Mesa in San Diego.. Is anybody out there?

I have an issue with my cooling system where I have a leak out the back of my engine just below or at the intake manifold.

My truck is a 94 XLT Extra Cab with a 4 Ltr V6.

Can anyone tell me where I can get an exploded view of the engine and intake manifold. I have been to the local Ford Dealer and they could not help.

What I need to do is identify where the leak is coming from and how best to fix it.

Sifurich in San Diego.

Hi Jay

If by OHV you mean off highway vehicle, no. This is my daily driver. If you are refering to the Overhead Valve, yes.. It is the OHV Engine, V6 4 Ltr.

Do you have one?

Richard

Yes, I meant overhead valve. I have the SOHC. I can never remember when they switched 4.0L from OHV to SOHC, that's why I asked....

I have two possibles in my head:

Heater core supply/return line fail, as that's probably the only coolant-handling system that's outboard of and behind the engine (good news), or the relationship between one of your heads and your block has soured, via a head gasket failure or somesuch (not such good news).

A compression check of all cylinders might solve the mystery. If your oil fill cover has a white, milky film on its interior, it might be the latter mentioned issue.

Hope that helps.
