I'm thinking of getting a mid nineties Ranger for light hauling for house projects, etc. I used to have a 98 flareside extended cab, 3.0/5spd that I bought new as a daily driver, but found I didn't like the compromises you have to live with on a daily basis.
However, since this isn't my main car, and I want something that is a good truck (mine was) and cheap. So I'm probably gonna focus on 1995-2001 four cylinder manual trans standard cabs. I'd love a flareside, if I could find one.
Anyway, just signed up to see what issues there were and what I should look fo/look out for in a used Ranger.

Not very powerful, back end too light, hard to get large objects behind the seats, when I threw stuff in the bed I had to go straight home thinking people would steal stuff out of it, ...just off the top of my head. Learned I wasn't really a truck as an only car guy.
Realized it wasn't my cup of tea on a daily basis, but it would be really handy for the occasional hauling chore, and I wouldn't have to put up with the inconveniences on a daily basis.
