Question Hi from Beaverton

Hello guys!

I just bought my first 2001 XLT 4x4 V6 4.0L SuperCab on Thursday. I love it. I left me stranded on one of the hwy bridges here in town within 4 days. I still love it.

Is that wrong?

The previous owner had it for 6 years and kept very good care of it, frequent oil changes, fluid flushes, etc... I bought it knowing there'd be a bit of work to do, but this one has me stumped. I'll make a new post in the help section, but basically it's the weird 'battery won't charge, but the battery and alternator are new' problem.

If you see this and feel like helping, that'd be awesome. I have the Haynes 'Ford Ranger Pickups 93-'10' manual and I've been studying it ... but it doesn't seem to help.

I'll post a link here to the new thread I create.
EDIT: trouble in paradise: Battery not charging, no speedo/odo/right gauges

Thanks!
_
Ben

I'm making a new thread in 'Ford Ranger Technical - Electrical Tech'.

I don't wanna clog up the introduction forum

short version, truck lost all power like it was running on just the battery and then the battery died.

I'll link to my new thread once I'm done writing it up... thanks in advance for the help!!

Just updated with the support thread link... any insight you guys have would be much appreciated. And if you're local, I'd buy you a beer. Or if you're not a drinker, a case of soda.

If I weren't in TN I'd help you out.

Thanks man, I'm already glad I bought this truck... now with support from people like you, I know I made the right choice... even if this dang thing needs another grand before it purrs.

If you do feel like reading over my problem, the thread is here:
Battery not charging, no speedo/odo/right gauges

Thanks richarddhoward!
