Post Re: FRF Member Map

Hi! I'm Joel Schermerhorn.
I'm new to the Ford Ranger Forum, but I've owned my Ranger since October 15, 2003. I bought it for $3K with 81,500 on it, and have since put 60Kmi on it. I've hauled alot of stuff with it, and it even has heavier springs in it (1,265# vs 1,100 stock). I've tested those springs to the max and beyond! I've had 2 facecords of fresh-split firewood in the back of that truck; I could only go 30-35 mph safely! Only then was the rubber spring stops touching the frame. It'll take 2k#'s at 45mph, but I don't like to give it that much of a workout very often! I change the oil and filter every 3Kmi, and the truck gets 20-23mpg in wintertime (used to get 25-26mpg in winter b4 10% ethanol!), and 23-28mpg in summer and occasionally up to 30mpg (used to get 27-30, occasionally 33mpg on trips!). I drive as if there were an egg under the gas pedal, and one day a few years ago, even a "grandmother" passed me! (I drive slower than grandma?) In the 8.5 yrs I've owned it, I've put very little in repairs to the truck. Overall a great little truck!

Fun idea.

----------

Hi everyone I'm pretty new, only a couple of times posting. Father of two teenage boys, married 22 years. I'm a union mover and also a groundskeeper on the side.

I like to bowhunt for whitetails and drink beer ( not at the same time though ) in my free time.

Just bought my first Ranger used a few weeks ago. I love it. Always had an F-150 before, but the family is shrinking and gas prices are going up. I thought the Ranger would be a sacrifice. Boy was I wrong. It does everything my big truck does, tows hauls, etc. And gets 22 mpg even towing. I'm thinking about some improvements like lifting the back a little and nice exhaust. This forum is really nice and thanks for letting me join.

My 2004 is a black regular cab. I've added a toolbox and a class 3 hitch.
Next I'll do the lift and start posting a picture now and then.

Hi I'm new here too.I did the map thing.I bought a 2009 Ranger Sport 4x4 a year ago.So far I've added a bull bar and driving lights.I plane to change out the headlights and taillights with the smoked look.I also have airbag shocks ordered for the back so I can lift it a bit especially when I tow my camper.I'll post pics later.
