I have $3000 to spend on a ranger. I love wheeling but I really want to build a prerunner that I can still take wheeling. I am not rich and am not looking to run any races, just want a strong vehicle that i can beatup.
I want to buy a 4x4 extra cab for convenience purposes, but my main goal is to jump the truck.
I want to know what you guys have for recommendations on what year to buy, weather 4x4 and extra cab are bad ideas, how much money i really need to put in to get this truck jump-able?
Is it going to need new rear axels, rear-end, ect?

Welcome! I think if you're planning on jumping the truck, the first thing you should do is get some life insurance! I couldn't even begin to tell you what to get for jumping, sorry!

thanks all for the welcoming! but since no one says anything about my questions does that mean you guys don't jump your trucks? not sure why i would need life insurance? anyways ill figure it out for myself. build what i think is good, jump it, brake it, and build it again! yeehaw

if you want a prerunner look then get a long travel that puts your tires too far out the sides lift the front higher then the back and put some lights on it lol ive seen a few around here like that oh dont forget the flared fenders well i guess thats more of a baja racer look
