Hey, I'm lookin at buyin a ranger. The particular one i'm lookin at at the moment is a 2004 (i think) edge manual 6cyl. Is there anything specific to rangers that I should look for/at when deciding whether or not to buy it? Thanks in advance

Test drive

Inspect under the truck

Have a mechanic u trust inspect it

Look close at the paint see if any looks odd like it has been repainted

If it is truly and 2004 edge it will have painted bumpers front and rear and painted fender flares. vinyl floor and white gauges

I'm 16 and my dad found it and he has grown up working on cars/trucks and his brother was a mechanic for many years, so he knows his way around cars/trucks. I was just wondering if there's anything specific to a ranger to look at

Also, it's at a dealership, so he'd probably know, but does that make any difference other than higher prices that you have to work down? (like in the way of it being inspected and such)

You got a link to the truck at the dealership

There was a guy couple weeks ago looking at a FX4 which had probably been wreaked he posted up pictures of it and nothing matched what the FX4 comes with from factory indicating some body work done to it

No, it's not the best run website, we couldn't find it. My dad stopped and looked on the way home from work yesterday. We work for the same company, actually i only intern for the summer, but I took the day off yesterday, so maybe i can see it today. We should leave here pretty soon

We stopped by on the way home and its pretty nice. It's an '04, red edge 6 cyl. manual tranny, pretty clean, good tires, overall pretty nice. We'll go by tomorrow and test drive, since we didn't have time today, and possibly purchase it

Well, I didn't get a ranger, but I did get a Ford It's a 1997 F150 Lariat with a 4.6 V8 and only 65K miles! It's in GREAT shape. I was gonna get a ranger, but couldn't find what I wanted (6cyl. manual edge that's not black) in my price range, plus I originally wanted a full size. It's a great truck with low mileage. Here's pics: (sorry about the quality, they were quick shots with my phone, I didn't even let it focus on most of them)

Sorry about the quality, they were just quick shots with my phone. I didn't really let it focus

well I'm thinkin some type of dual exhaust b/c i'm not a fan of it coming out in front of the wheel, plus performance. Also, a cold air intake for performance. I don't know for sure about the exhaust though b/c I don't want it to be real loud, I need to find one that's quality and at least gives it a nice sound, but not something that'll wake up the neighbors. Also, nerf bars are a possibility.
