New guy from PA
Hey guys and girls. I've been a lurker for a while ,but I think I found a ford ranger so I decided to register. This is gunna be my first truck as well as my first vehicle. While I'm introducing myself maybe someone can help me out as well. The name's Matt. The truck's an 87 2.9L V6 4x4, standard tranny. Anyway, my dad took the truck for a ride since I don't know how to drive stick (at least not yet) and he said the clutch seems to grab the gear late. He said like when the pedal is almost all the way released. Is there anyway to adjust this? He said he thinks there is if it's not a hydraulic clutch. Also when it started there was a bit of a grinding (what he described it as) sort of noise. He said something about brushes? Anything would help greatly. Thanks in advance.

Re: New guy from PA
Just to correct this I talked to my dad he said it wasn't a grinding but like a choke maybe? But he said he thinks it's whatever acts as the starter because he thinks that it doesn't have a starter due to it's age.

It is a hydraulic clutch, IIRC. I don't know much more than that, but checking fluids is usually a good first step.

Not much else - working like a dog, wishing I had more $$$ for my Ranger, looking forward to an Army Reserve company reunion at the Gap in a couple weeks.

Yeah man, it's been hot! If you're going to the water gap bring some fishing poles man. I've been fishing down there the past few weeks and we were catching monster catfish. Do live bait cause there are awesome stripers too.
