Hello Ranger members :
Happened to find a 1990 Extra Cab2.9 V6 with the A4OD Transmission with a Blown Motor IE Cracked heads . But it had a great Body and interior with 4 WD for $350
So I read about the better heads and picked up a pair and installed them.

Previous the Truck ran when I got it but pumped huge amounts of Steam out the Exhaust but seemed quite and not knocking .

Upon running after changing the heads and changing the Oil and filter
the steam stopped but the A4OD Trans would not up shift unless you wound out the motor a lot to about 4,000 RPM's then it would shift
Suspect was the Vacuum Modulator humm

As well upon the motor now running better I note a noise from #3 Cylinder like a Noisy Piston darn .
