Just joined here a few days ago. Lots of great information. About a week ago I purchased a 1996 XLT, 4.0, Automatic Supercab. It has 215000 miles and seems to run fine so far. This replaced a 2005 which was just totaled.

A couple of mods I have started on it:

I took the solid back window from the 2005 to replace the slider in the '96(I like the looks of the plain window better).

I ran across a 2000 Explorer at a wrecking yard and got the bucket seats and console. The seats are in and I am still working on adapting the console.

I also installed the instrument cluster with tach from the same Explorer. I'm in the process of troubleshooting a couple of issues with the cluster which I will post in the Electrical section.

Here's a couple pics of the truck and Explorer seats.

Hello. I have a 2003 Ranger and it's my baby. Yes, it's slower than my Audi and Tesla but neither one of those can tow a boat, carry my muddy dog or go to the dump.

Thanks for letting me join. I'm eager to learn for you experts on how to fix some little problems that I haven't been able to figure out. First, my driver's door does not shut right and needs some adjustment. What is the best way to adjust it? Thank you.

Hello. Happy to have access to so much info on Rangers. I recently purchased a 1998 XLT 2wd 3.0 , with 250k . No rust , still looks pretty good. Has been needing some TLC. Its no fireball , but so far reliable.
