Hello to all of you Ford enthusiasts! I recently bought a 97 rwd xlt from my brother-in-law for $500. It runs and has a pretty much rust-free frame/body, but I have some maintenance to do before inspection, including bearings, brakes, fluid flushes, new tires and a 3" rear lift to match the front that was lifted by a previous owner. I bought it because I needed a truck to accomplish some building projects. Also, my brother and I are very much outdoorsmen and although his little VW Jetta has served us well, it was never built to climb washed out, steep and rocky service roads out in the middle of nowhere. I plan on building a utility rack over the bed/can to haul kayaks and gear. I'm really excited to overhaul this little 4 cylinder beast into a badass workhorse. Anyway, cheers from Coumbia county!
