Default old new guy

New here, 1st post. Mine is a 01 single cab 2X4 3.0. I have long term plans to drop a 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang engine in this truck. The truck is lighter than the Mustang and should be fine with 310hp 310tq. I'm not new to any of this, been building engines and porting for 30+ yrs. I had a 10 sec drag/street car for 17yrs. When all done, this truck will keep it's stock appearance, for the obvious reasons

I have been digging and searching for 2 months now on stepping up the performance of this 3.0 just to entertain myself until I get all of the swap parts.

I am getting disappointed at what I am finding and not finding. I do understand that the 3.0 just isn't a race engine, I accept that. But is has to be that a ported intake or the Taurus intake and TB, ported heads and a small cam and headers, will at the least help some with power and efficiency/MPG. Tom Morana has some hard to believe claims of HP/TQ gains with his intakes. I'd love to see where a costumer can vouch for that. I can fab, cut, weld and port any of it myself. I have been doing it very successfully for years.

Thanks for any input and I'm glad to have found this source of info.
