Post Vibration

Hello there, my name is Cody. I recently purchased a 2011 ford Ranger 4.0L 5-Speed with 135000 miles. Just put new tires on the stock rims, new front rotors/bearing assembly’s, and U joints. I have a vibration at highway speeds. Starting from about 55ish till over 85. I’m not sure if there already is a post about this. I saw some older post but I was hoping that someone would have an answer before I go replacing the whole bottom of the truck. Thanks.

Did you try swapping the front tires to the rear and see if the vibration changes places?

I didn’t, it just seems to shake the whole cab. Hard to pinpoint the front or the back.

Check your driveshaft for damage and the u-joints were installed correctly.

I just did the u-joints myself. I didn’t see anything noticeably wrong with the drive shaft. It had two weights for balancers on it. I’m getting the tires rebalanced and road forced. Hopefully that will fix it. It’s super annoying.

Somehow over 2 weeks the tires got out of balance... one tire was almost 3oz off.. but got it all fixed and it drives smooth! Thank God!

Yep thanks! Eventually, I was to start putting some money in the ranger. Maybe a 3-4” lift with some bigger tires. Nothing crazy, because it’s just a 2wd. What have you done with yours?

Wow, you went into the truck. Lol eventually I’ll do a bunch of stuff. This site is quite informative on the rangers.
