Hey!!

So, new member. I remember being on forums when I bought the truck new in 09 but don't think it was here.

Bit of background; bought a 2009 b2300 new in late 2008. Drove it for a while and gave it to my dad in 2013 when I got a ford escape..that I traded in for a Silverado 2015 and 4 years later.. Silverado is gone and my dad wasn't using the truck so he gave it back. Truck has 156 000kms which isn't much. no rust at all (not typical in Quebec lol).

I live in the mountains in the outskirts of Ottawa and it snowed about a foot today, couldn't make it up the street. LOL which leads to my first questions:

1- has anyone mounted front tow hooks on a 2WD truck?
2- any lift options whatsoever to get a bit more clearance? I could be mistaken but don't we have torsion bars?

Anyways, don't plan on doing much to the truck asides from a good maintenance in the coming weeks (oil, filters, spark plugs, new winter tires and alternator seems to be going) but eventually would like to lift 2-3" and add some 235's duratracs. brighter headlights and tow hooks.

Anyways nice to meet y'all!

The trucks do have torsion bars that you can crank to get a bit extra clearance. Though with doing that, it messes with the alignment (unless you get it corrected) and will wear your tires uneven. You can find a bunch of lift kits online, depending what you are looking for.

Id recommend going with a suspension lift rather than a body lift because it is safer to do so. Rough Country has suspension lifts (though they ride bad from what I heard). You can go to customwheeloffsets.com or other various websites and have a gander, just make sure to do your research.

As far as tow hooks, I'm sure you can find threads/posts for spots. I know I have seen them under the bumper, but that'd probably require you to have a roll pan.

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can get custom headlights (ie halos, lets, etc). Though if you aren't in to spending ~$200 (US), then upgrading the bulb may be your best option. Might even dabble into some led pods, led bar, or even removing the oxidation from the headlights.

I also have to do the same, since I have the 2wd 4.0L Ranger, and we just got over a foot of snow as well. Damn snowplows cleaned the lot but pushed all the snow against the parked cars. Good luck with your search.

Some of the 2wd 2.3 tucks had coil spring suspension (I have no idea how ford decided which truck got which suspension). The factory 4x4 tow hooks will not bolt to a 2wd coil spring frame. (It lacks the front cross member they bolt to) the 2wd torsion bar trucks for some reason have the crossmember.

Lifts are available for both style suspensions. The coil trucks are fairly expensive but easier than the torsion bar trucks since cranking the torsion bars makes it ride like a tank while a spindle lift does not effect ride quality much.
