new to the forum and efi swaps
hey, my name is Robert and i live in the central valley of CA.
ive got 3 trucks:
85 explorer with an idi i am going to convert to an electric rock crawler
a 75 ranger with a webbed block 390, dump truck heads, thundurbird intake, long tube true duels with cherrybombs, 4180 holley, all forged rotating assembly, and is my current DD, which is only economical in the smiles per gallon aspect
75 chevy LUV that is the reason i am here.the origional motor decided it wanted to be a fancy DOHC setup while driving down the street and obviously started to run a but rough.
around the same time i found out getting a new cam was next to impossible, my friend got tboned in his 96 ranger, and i bought it for the 2.3L+5 speed for the LUV, because i have some experience with 2.3s for dirt track racing and love the little guys
my plans of sticking a dizzy in it, and fabbing up a custom intake to run 4 mikunis quickly died once i realized there is no hole for the dizzy :'(
back to the drawing board i went, with a 2.3 on an engine stand, 5 speed + fuel tank in the bed, and my entire seat burried underneath the rangers factory harness
i am here in the hopes of finding someone that can tell me "oh yeah, it runs just fine if you cut that half of the harness off, hook up these 2 dummy sensors, and stuff the whole mess inside that 1'x8"x4" space available in your dash"
or, if somebody can point me in the direction of a cheap msd box to run it as a carbed setup, ill be equally happy
