New to the forum
I'm nearly 84 years old and have owned over 100 vehicles, starting with a 1929 cut-down '29 Chevy which I bought for $25.00 in Miami, Florida. My second car was a 1939 Lincoln four-door sedan with a V-12 engine that leaked at least one gallon of oil every hundred miles. I bought that car for $75.00 when I was 14 years old. It's the car I used to drive my mom and sister back to Syracuse, N.Y. That car died in the winter of 1950 from a broken rear axle which I couldn't replace. My next Ford was a '39 black coupe. I loved that car. I used to decorate it with ribbons on high school football days. I didn't get another Ford until 2000, a little Ford Ranger 4X4 which I gave to my son. That Ranger was killed by my grandson who had taken it four-wheeling without his dad's permission and turned it over, completely smashing it on a mountain trail. Now I own a Ford Ranger again, one I bought yesterday (3 August 2018), a 2011 basic model with the 2.3 engine, a simple little white one-owner truck with almost no bells and whistles. I like it. I'm a retired university professor and a once academic vice chancellor of a state university system. I served in the Marine Corps and have worked in many different occupations during a long life. It's good to be here. I'm looking forward to reading Ranger-related posts, especially those related to maintenance. Komac
