Hi there folks,
I'm in Chandler, AZ and recently got a 2006 Ford Ranger with 220,000 miles on it. I've never owned a truck before and will mostly be using this to haul around stuff, taking stuff to the dump (landscaping), etc.
I'm mostly a Mercedes guy. I have a 1991 S Class coupe (560 SEC) and a newer S class sedan (have owned a lot of other models before these). I try to do my own work when possible. Mercedes has a system EPC for looking up parts and then great workshop manuals (WIS / Startek). I look forward to finding the same things for Ford
The new-to-me truck is a 5 speed manual, which is interesting because I have never really drove manual before I bought it. Very interesting trip home! (the previous owner was great and gave me a rundown on the basics). I'm 37 years old, never to old to learn I guess?
You'll see me around here looking for how to do specific jobs (ex: I have to replace the cable to the parking brake. Right now, I have to park in-gear to avoid having the truck roll down the driveway). I'm also interested in what parts suppliers people use. I ordered some basic parts from fordpartsgiant.com and the price seemed fair
