Default proud owner

Hi all, I'm now the proud owner of a 1994 Ranger XL.

I joined because I'm currently having issues with the shitty armrest in my 60/40 bench. when I got the truck it was already pretty bad, all cracked and somewhat "fixed" but now the latch button completely failed...
I wish I had a full vinyl bench seat but they don't seem to be too common.

I'm tempted to simply glue the lid on and having it as a simple, no frills armrest but I can't figure out just how to remove it so I can work comfortably in the shop...

if anyone as ideas as to what I could do... BTW I don't want buckets.

There is a Torx bolt inside that attaches it to the Dr seat.. Believe its a T40 or T45. You can find the latch on Ebay or random google searches. Bandaiding it might net you a couple days or weeks of getting by but another latch should get you a few years.. its a 24 yr old truck

Thanks undrstm8ed, I know it’s not new anymore (it’s still the newest vehicle I own)
I removed the lid and inner tray but still can’t see a screw. There’s a few rivets but it makes no sense having to drill them...

its a pivot bolt with a torx head on it.. let me go through my FSM. Mine was absent when I got the truck but the screw was there.
