Default 7.3 ranger/ mini super duty build...

my project is a bit extreme, I know I may receive some criticism for the project but here goes. I have a 99 e450 with 119k miles, engine trans and rear end are perfectly healthy, it has been well maintained. I also have a ranger with a shot drivetrain, and by shot, I mean some idiot never changed the oil, and when it started knocking decided to put an engine oil solution into the transmission, believing he had added it to the engine, so I got the truck off him for scrap price.. now my goal it to take cannibalize the e450 and turn the ranger into a mini superduty. my concerns are
1- given that I am planning on running 2.5 ton front and rear axles, what options do I have other than hydro steering?
2- should I sell the trans behind the 7.3 that I currently have for a 250 trans w/t case, or would I be okay using the current trans and use a divorce mount tcase from a power wagon? as the length of the later option worries me of the pinion angle...
any help or insight would be greatly apperciated

----------

the truck will not be a mud toy or crawler of any sort, just a around town truck with occasional off road use, mainly just want to build something different than the everyday superduty...

I have no idea how you going to cram that in there, but I would like to see you try. However, my money would be that it won't fit. Speaking of not fit, I think that the transmission won't work. Quite certain that is too big, the one from your donor, and I'm pretty sure that the stock transmission in the ranger won't handle the power, or at least it would be a weak link and the new drivetrain. You should look at some of the threads were people take the V8 out of the explorers and put them in the Rangers and the transmission options they use. I'm pretty sure I read a lot of people using older style F-150 transmission.

That's an excellent suggestion. But I would love to see him try to fit the 7 .3 L and 1st. And if it doesn't fit, like I suspect, then he could sell it since it's already out of the vehicle and ready to go. And with that money he could buy the 6.0.
